Dubai, UAE – January 6, 2026 – Human Planet, a leading global impact investing advisory firm on innovative finance, has appointed Sabrin Rahman as Partner, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa, effective January 1, 2026.
This marks a major strategic expansion for the firm, signalling its formal entry into the region as it seeks to unlock private capital for public good across the climate, health, education, and livelihoods sectors.
With nearly two decades of experience, Sabrin brings a uniquely global and deeply regional lens to Human Planet’s expansion, having spent her career advancing sustainability and strategic partnerships across the financial, diplomatic, and development sectors. As the former Managing Director – Head of Sustainability for HSBC covering Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, she led major sustainable finance and philanthropy initiatives, helping mobilize billions of dollars in capital towards climate and just-transition goals for over 14 years.
Sabrin also played a pivotal role in shaping the COP28 UAE Presidency’s Action Agenda and the UAE Consensus, fostering high-level cross-sectoral collaboration. Recognised among the Fin-Erths Top 100 Women in Climate and holding advanced degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University Sydney, she brings exceptional expertise in ESG governance, impact investing, and regional policy engagement to her new role. I am excited to bring globally validated expertise and solutions to help realize this transformation with integrity and impact.”
Human Planet has earned international recognition for pioneering financial instruments such as impact bonds, results-based financing, developing carbon projects, and blended finance structures that de-risk private investment into underserved markets. The firm has structured over $500 million in assets and works with investors, multilaterals, impactful businesses, and global corporates to deliver measurable social and environmental outcomes.
Across the Middle East and North Africa, Human Planet aims to:
- Design and structure scalable financing vehicles aligned with regional and national priorities such as the Saudi Vision 2030 and UAE Net Zero 2050.
- Support governments, philanthropic actors, and investors in transitioning from traditional grant models to performance-based and investment-ready funding tools.
- Mobilize regional capital from sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and mission-driven corporates into global high-impact solutions.
